The Alouette III is demonstrating a winch operation at the Rescue-Coast-Guard-Ship "Ruhrstahl" of the german rescue organisation so called DGzRS (Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung SchiffbrŸchiger). By the way one has to mention that rescue operations by helicopters were of great importance in february 1962 : over 300 citizensÊof Hamburg lost their livesÊdue to theÊgreat storm tide and the former Minister of the Interior of Hamburg - Helmut Schmidt who wasÊGerman Chancellor (1974-1982) managed this crisisÊby a task force of the Bundeswehr, BundesgrenzschutzÊand the Allied Forces with many helicopters in operation rescuing many lives. Hamburg never forgotÊHelmut Schmidt«s efforts.
