Northrop technician inspects an element of the computer-managed electronic countermeasures system for the U.S. Air Force B-52 bomber. One of the fastest growing business areas of Northrop, the Defense Systems Division in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, develops and produces both tactical and strategic countermeasures. The firm has delivered 100 Internal Countermeasure Sets for the F-15 Eagle to the U.S. Air Force ahead of schedule. Northrop is also memeber of one of two teams selected to competitively develop an advanced electronic countermeasures jammer to protect advanced Navy and Air Force fighter and attack aircraft such as the F/A-18 (4154-1).
